The curriculum of the Aiki Budokai comprises 3 sections:� Taijutsu (body tactics), Buki-ho (weapons-use methods) and Kenkojutsu (health-restoration tactics), taught together as a cohesive method.

All three areas of study rely on Kihon (literally, the roots of trees) Waza (techniques).� These Kihon Waza are a set of simple, basic skills that develop alignments, structures, power generation and the ability to consistently move from center, that are essential to all physical areas of study.

All later techniques, no matter how sophisticated, with or without weapons, combative or not, are combinations of Kihon.� For examples of the curriculum, see here
